Leis of appreciation

By co-sponsoring the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act (H.R. 2307), Rep. Kai Kahele is supporting a livable world for all. As a symbol of our gratitude, Citizens' Climate Lobby Hawai'i made special leis for the Congressman and his Senior Policy Advisor, Dave Chun.

Each kukui bead in the leis is inscribed with a special message offered by our members. The messages:

The backstory…

These beautiful leis were created by Zoë Whitney, a CCL member who is currently based in Sweden. Zoë founded the Hawaii Island Chapter and has long been a liaison for the Hawaii District 2 representative’s office. The kukui nut leis found their way to Sweden where Zoë painstakingly inscribed the messages from the lobby team that recently met with Dave Chun, Rep. Kahele’s senior policy advisor. The leis are on their way to chapter co-lead and co-liaison, Ron Reilly, who will present them to Rep. Kahele through his Hilo staff.
