Create the will for effective, equitable, and efficient climate action with Citizens’ Climate Lobby.

About Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) Hawaii

We are an all-volunteer organization in Hawaii comprised of members from CCL chapters in Oahu, Maui, Hawaii Island, and Kauai.

Citizens’ Climate Lobby offers every person who is worried about climate change the opportunity to make an impact far beyond their personal lifestyle choices. Our education and training turns ordinary citizens into highly effective volunteer lobbyists, organizers and communicators who get meaningful climate legislation passed.

We work to create political support for durable climate policy and an equitable and just transition for everyone. We also actively support a carbon fee and dividend policy - Carbon Cashback - in Hawaii as a means to accelerate support for national (and global) action. Learn more.

CCL turns to the future of our advocacy

“… in addition to our pursuit of carbon fee and dividend, CCL will throw our weight behind carefully chosen clean energy and nature-based policies.” - Madeleine Para, CCL Executive Director.

CCL has expanded its policy focus to include clean energy and nature-based solutions. Learn more.

We advocate for local and national climate policies, including carbon cashback, a proven approach to reducing planet-warming emissions while offering a just transition for people, particularly our vulnerable.

In terms of policy carbon pricing is definitely the most significant single policy that there could be if it’s tax and dividend it’s even better because basically you’re rewarded for taking less and doing more if you will for the environment in terms of the energy use.
