Rep. Kai Kahele Co-Sponsors Carbon Pricing Bill

Rep. Kahele has co-sponsored H.R. 2307 - the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act!

If passed, H.R. 2307 will introduce a gradually increasing price on carbon-intensive products like fossil fuels, a dividend payment to households that the revenue will fund, and a carbon border adjustment to protect our businesses and industries.

With the growing support for carbon pricing in Congress, including Representative Kahele's support of H.R. 2307 and Senator Brian Schatz's introduction of the Save Our Future Act (a carbon pricing bill), and the potential for carbon pricing to be added into the budget reconciliation, something that Citizens' Climate Lobby is actively campaigning for, the U.S. may very well implement a fee on carbon before long. We encourage Senator Hirono to join Schatz in support of the Save our Futures Act and Representative Case to join Kahele in supporting H.R. 2307.

While there are many actions that we must do to address the climate crisis, pricing carbon is one of the most effective.
